Blog 1: Interpersonal Communications in Groups
The easiest part of setting up my Wix account was changing my headshot. I am curating the portfolio I made for my previous class with Dr. Lietzenmeyer. I chose to change my headshot to a more up to date photo. I use this photo across other social media accounts including Springible, a company that I am currently interning for. I wanted to streamline the networks I use and make myself recognizable by using the same photo. I also changed the over theme and design of my ePortfolio. My previous portfolio was simple and somewhat bland. I have added more photos and eye-catching colors. Design and appearance is very important, especially when the goal is to attract readers and subscribers. Since last semester I have acquired a new job and internship, which required me to update my resume. I was not comfortable including links to social media when I first created my portfolio last semester because it was not professional but now I have the opportunity to do so. With my new position I have taken on the role of managing the social media accounts for The Olde Farm, a private golf club. I have included the links to the Instagram accounts in my contact information, a new addition to my portfolio. With that being said, I am much more confidant in my professional online presence than I was with my portfolio before. I am more confident in my writing ability thanks to my internship and am excited to continue working through the process. My social media presence consists of theoldefarm and thelodge. Although I am very active on these accounts no one knows that it is me who is making the posts. My personal presence is not well known but I think that these accounts reflect my professional self very well. I have taught myself how to market a business through social media. I’ve studied when our followers are most active, the demographics of our followers, and from these findings I have learned when and what to post to gain the most from each posting.I feel like I have highlighted my abilities but still have a lot to learn. At this point I do not have any questions about the project and I look forward to continue adding to my portfolio throughout the semester.
